Keep the bill of lading attached to the pickup that produced it

Pickup evidence • 2 min read

How does BOL management work in TTMS Fleet Mini?

At pickup, the driver can capture one or more bill of lading pages and attach them to the active load and pickup stop. The owner can review the files, request a clearer copy and include accepted BOL evidence in the trip envelope.

01

Capture all relevant pages

A BOL may have a front, back, continuation sheet or shipper attachment. The upload control should not assume that every pickup produces exactly one image.

Drivers should be able to preview page order and replace an unreadable capture before completing the pickup workflow.

02

Preserve pickup context

The file should carry the load identifier and the pickup stop identifier. This prevents a BOL from being confused with paperwork from another stop on a multi-pickup load.

Timestamps and uploader identity help reconstruct what happened when the document is reviewed later.

03

Use status, not guesswork

A clear review state—uploaded, needs review, accepted or replacement requested—tells both sides what remains to be done.

A missing-BOL exception can remain visible until the fleet’s required evidence is present.

OPERATIONAL SEQUENCE

A workflow an owner and driver can both follow

The route ribbon makes the relationship between actions visible. Each step leaves context for the next person and the final review.

  1. 1Arrive at pickup
  2. 2Open the pickup document action
  3. 3Capture every BOL page
  4. 4Confirm load and stop
  5. 5Submit for review

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Questions fleets ask

Can a driver upload more than one BOL page?

Yes. Multi-page capture is important because a BOL package may include continuation pages or attachments.

Is the BOL linked to the load or the stop?

It belongs to the load and can also reference the exact pickup stop for precise context.

Can the owner request a clearer image?

Yes. A review status can flag an unreadable page and ask the driver for a replacement.

Is a BOL the same as a POD?

No. The BOL primarily documents freight at pickup; the POD records delivery acceptance.
